Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust wins Third Sector Organisation of the Year 2018

Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust is delighted to share the news that it has received the  ‘Third Sector Organisation of the Year Award’ and Trust Director Ron Boothroyd from Altass has received the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award at the Highland Third Sector Interface Awards which were held on Friday 24th August at the Strathpeffer Pavilion.

The Trust’s manager Helen Houston said, “Ron was nominated for the accolade of volunteer of the year because we wanted all the work that he has done for the Trust over the past few years to be acknowledged… not only was he was heavily involved in supporting the contracts team to deliver the Falls of Shin Visitor Attraction – more recently he has dedicated a huge amount of his time working with Highland Wireless to bring superfast broadband into the Kyle of Sutherland. ”

On receiving the award Ron commented, “I am naturally very pleased, though somewhat surprised to receive this award, as there are many deserving volunteers throughout the Highlands, who work tirelessly to make things better for others within their communities.”

Helen added, “I would like to thank everyone in the team for all their hard work and dedication, the board of directors for providing direction and vision for the Trust, and of course I would like to thank the community for its ongoing support!”
